What is Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Hypnotherapy (MBCH)?

In the fields of medicine and psychotherapy, mindfulness and hypnotherapy have been extensively studied and developed over the years, and are widely utilized clinically. Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Hypnotherapy (MBCH) is a comprehensive integrative therapeutic approach that combines these powerful modalities to enhance psychological well-being, reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and improve self-awareness and self-control.

The Core Principles of MBCH:

Mindfulness: MBCH is built on the foundation of mindfulness, which refers to the conscious awareness and acceptance of present moment experiences, including bodily sensations, emotions, and thoughts. By cultivating mindfulness, individuals can learn to approach their experiences non-judgmentally and non-reactively, reducing the impact of negative emotions and thoughts.

Cognitive Therapy: Cognitive therapy plays a significant role in MBCH, helping individuals identify and change negative thought patterns, thereby altering emotional and behavioral responses. Through cognitive therapy, individuals can learn to examine and challenge negative automatic thinking, and cultivate more positive and adaptive ways of thinking.

Hypnotherapy: Hypnotherapy is an essential component of MBCH, allowing individuals to enter a relaxed and focused state, making the subconscious mind more receptive to positive suggestions. In the state of hypnosis, therapists can guide individuals through processes of inner exploration, subconscious change, and self-healing.

By integrating these three key elements - mindfulness, cognitive therapy, and hypnotherapy - MBCH offers a comprehensive and holistic approach to personal growth and well-being. Individuals who engage in MBCH can expect to experience enhanced self-awareness, greater emotional regulation, and the ability to make lasting, positive changes in their lives.

Whether you're seeking to manage a specific issue or simply want to enhance your overall well-being, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Hypnotherapy can be a transformative and empowering experience. Unlock your full potential and create a more mindful, balanced, and fulfilling life through this evidence-based approach.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are the differences between MBCH (Mindfulness-based Cognitive Hypnotherapy), MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) program, and MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy) program?

A: All three programs are based on mindfulness and are evidence-based mind-body training courses. The MBCH course is designed based upon the foundation of MBCT but incorporates hypnotherapy, allowing participants to make changes at both conscious and subconscious levels.

Q: I have no experience with hypnosis or practicing mindfulness. Can I still participate in the MBCH course?

A: Absolutely. The MBCH course is suitable for both individuals who have never been exposed to hypnosis or mindfulness and those who have some experience in the related areas. The course instructor will make appropriate arrangements and adjust the guidance methods according to the needs of the participants, helping them to understand the relationship between mindfulness and hypnosis. Through self-hypnosis, participants can establish a consistent mindfulness practice.

Q: Is MBCH a certificate course?

A: Yes. Upon attending at least 7 out of the 8 sessions and the mindfulness retreat day, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion issued by Vincent Yeung, the MBCH instructor at Mind Matters Academy.
