Certified Hypnotherapist & Certified Specialist in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Training Programme

Certified Hypnotherapist & Certified Specialist in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Training Programme

The market is flooded with hypnosis courses, but many are just crash courses that teach a few basic techniques, hand out certificates, and call it a day. As a result, you end up with a certificate but still clueless when facing real clients, becoming nothing more than a 'name-only hypnotist' with a fancy title.

Mind Matters Academy is different! Our course isn't superficial; it's a professional system designed specifically for those who 'aspire to master hypnosis and genuinely help themselves and others'.

We firmly believe: 'Help yourself first, then help others' – it’s the only way to go! What truly helps clients overcome emotional distress isn't sensational techniques or mystifying theories, but a solid foundation in psychological principles and a scientifically validated hypnotherapy system.

More importantly, in the process of learning how to help others, you'll also use what you learn to explore yourself, heal from within, and build a deep confidence in hypnosis. Many of our students have already successfully overcome long-standing issues like panic attacks, depression, anxiety, and insomnia during the course.

Our course's ultimate goal: To help you become a competent, confident, and truly effective hypnotherapist who can genuinely solve clients' problems while also taking care of your own needs – not just a 'hypnotist' who uses a certificate for show.

Choose Mind Matters Academy, and become a hypnosis expert who can truly help yourself and help others!

(1) The Only SFBT × Hypnosis Integrated Teaching in Hong Kong

Mind Matters Academy is the only academy in Hong Kong that integrates Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) with clinical hypnosis techniques. SFBT is a therapeutic approach that focuses on solutions rather than the causes of problems, emphasizing the client's abilities and resources, believing that the client inherently possesses the potential to solve their own problems. Clinical hypnosis techniques, on the other hand, can guide clients into a special state of consciousness, making them more receptive to therapeutic suggestions. This integrated teaching model has significant advantages.

For counselors, SFBT enriches their therapeutic techniques, allowing them to have more options when dealing with different cases. When dealing with family relationship problems, therapists can first use SFBT techniques, such as the miracle question, to guide clients to imagine the positive scenarios after the problem is solved, finding the direction to solve the problem; and then use hypnosis techniques to help clients strengthen positive thoughts and emotions at the subconscious level, accelerating the therapeutic process.

For those pursuing self-development, this integrated teaching allows them to understand themselves more deeply, explore their inner resources, and improve their psychological well-being. Those who are in helping professions can also learn this model to better help others solve psychological problems, improving work efficiency and quality.

In addition, this course is a specialist course certified by the International Hypnosis Association (IHA), which means that students will receive a higher level of professional recognition after completing the course. IHA certification represents the high standards and professionalism of the course, and students' skills and knowledge are affirmed by international bodies.

(2) Hypnosis × Negotiation

Vincent Yeung's professional journey spans multiple disciplines, showcasing a highly distinctive cross-disciplinary approach. His therapy system integrates a wealth of experiences from various fields.

Over the years, he has continued to cultivate his expertise and is now a seasoned hypnotherapist.

To date, he has successfully handled over 1160 cases worldwide involving anxiety, trauma healing, and various other issues, accumulating extensive practical experience in clinical mental health counseling. Each case is a testament to his professional competence.

International Legal & Negotiation Expertise: In addition to his psychology-related background, Vincent also has significant experience in the legal field. He has worked in the litigation departments of multinational law firms and the public sector, immersed in legal negotiations and mediation. He is familiar with various dispute resolution and negotiation strategies. His legal experience infuses his hypnotherapy work with new elements and brings a unique therapeutic perspective to students.

Exclusive "Conscious-Subconscious Negotiation":  Inspired by Milton Erickson, Vincent's unique therapy aligns the conscious and subconscious mind for lasting change. When helping clients, he acts as a mediator, uncovering root causes through hypnosis and guiding clients to resolve inner conflicts.

(3) Free Mental Health First Aid Training

Mind Matters Academy offers all hypnotherapy course students a free 12-hour Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Standard Course, authorized by Mental Health First Aid International and certified by The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong, ensuring its credibility.

This course provides a systematic understanding of identifying common mental illnesses like depression and anxiety. You'll learn their characteristic symptoms, such as low mood and sleep disturbances in depression, and excessive worry and restlessness in anxiety. Crucially, you'll master coping skills for suicidal tendencies, learning how to communicate in emergencies, stabilize emotions, and seek timely professional help.

This MHFA training significantly enhances your ability to safely handle special cases. You'll gain the knowledge and skills to respond effectively to clients with mental illnesses, minimizing risks and providing strong protection for their well-being.

(4) Enroll & Empower: 100 Meals Donated Per Student

Mind Matters Academy actively embraces social responsibility through a deep partnership with Foodlink Foundation. Guided by our motto "Help Yourself, Help Others," for every course enrollment, we donate 100 nutritious meals to Foodlink, supporting Hong Kong's underprivileged. To date, we've contributed a significant number of meals, actively improving lives.

We believe in the importance of social responsibility. By seeing how Mind Matters Academy is giving back, students will develop empathy, considering clients' broader life circumstances and societal context, not just the presenting issues. This will lead to a more holistic approach to empower them. It reinforces the principle of truly "helping others" in their careers

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: What is Hypnosis?

Answer: Throughout history, hypnosis has always given people a sense of mystery.  Some people believe that hypnosis is a kind of black magic that controls people's minds and deprives them of their consciousness. Others believe that hypnosis only works for the weak-minded. In fact, hypnosis is just a tool to unleash the potential within a person. It allows the hypnotised person to communicate with their subconscious and improve their psychological state, achieving breakthroughs in everyday life.

At a recent online seminar held by the Royal Medical Society, we discussed the use of hypnosis as a means of helping clients with depression to overcome their condition. During the seminar, some scholars suggested that patients with depression may not be mentally prepared to relax in order to enter a hypnotic state, as they may have been in a heightened state of alertness for a prolonged period of time. At first, this argument sounds reasonable, as many people believe that the primary requirement for hypnosis is a relaxed state of mind. However, as we further explored the definition of hypnosis, we arrived at an interesting conclusion: Clients with depression (especially those who are also struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder) are actually the true masters of self-hypnosis.

Simply put, hypnosis is like experiencing a dream. As the subconscious mind becomes more receptive to hypnotic suggestions, the senses of the person undergoing hypnosis (or self-hypnosis) are more likely to be dominated by their inner world, temporarily disregarding the sensations of the real world.

Returning to the topic of clients with depression and PTSD, despite their loss of interest in things around them and their tendency to overlook details in life, once their pain is triggered, their traumatic experience is likely to be replayed in their minds to the finest details, causing the client to relive the pain all over again. Isn't this essentially a hypnotic state?

Some might ask: "Well, then isn't hypnosis very dangerous?"

In fact, hypnosis is but a natural state and has no positive or negative connotation. Whether it is positive or negative depends entirely on the psychological state of the person involved. For example, if you had a very pleasant dream last night and woke up this morning still savoring the experience, even being lost in that sweet feeling in the afternoon, how would you describe that as a form of self-hypnosis? Alternatively, if you have received recognition for your abilities in a certain area and your self-image is in an excellent state, and you are able to immediately return to a state of mental and physical excellence when needed (such as during a public speech), how would you feel about that?

Question: Does Hypnotherapy Work?

Answer: Hypnotherapy, as the name suggests, involves inducing a hypnotic state and then conducting psychological or physical therapy. In fact, hypnosis has been recognized as a form of psychotherapy in Europe and the United States since the 1950s.

In recent years, both Harvard Medical School and Stanford University School of Medicine in the United States have conducted research on hypnotherapy and found that in addition to significant effects on phobias, low self-esteem, insomnia, sexual dysfunction, stress, smoking, colitis, headaches, and high blood pressure, hypnosis also appears to aid in the recovery of bone fracture patients. Researchers found that bone fracture patients who received hypnosis suggestions recovered about 30% faster than those who did not receive hypnosis suggestions. Although the study only covered a small number of cases, it has shown a potential correlation between the two. From a medical perspective, this is definitely a breakthrough.
